This large owl suncatcher is made with a luminous purple swirled Youghiogheny art glass for the body and crown, textured purple cathedral art glass for the wings, and white opalescent art glass for the eyes. Two black glass jewels are used for the center of the eyes, and a black glass beak is soldered on top for a 3-D effect. It measures 5" x 7 1/2 (not including the hanging ribbon), and comes ready to hang with ribbon and suction cup hanger.
This piece really glows in a sunny window, but is equally as beautiful at night. The solder is silver colored, but will appear darker in a lighted window. Please note that the irregular surface striations on the body and crown are a normal characteristic of Youghiogheny glass, and not flaws.
This piece is now made to order, so the colorations in yours will be different than the one pictured as each piece of this type of glass is unique. It will ship within 5 business days from the date of purchase.
Each piece of glass is carefully selected, cut and shaped by hand, and assembled using the copper foil method (also known as the Tiffany method.)
