This gorgeous hand painted majolica ceramic covered bowl was made in Italy and imported by New York Based Mittledorfer-Strauss in their Peasant Village (PV) line. It features a vibrant bird, grapes, and floral motif in teal, gold, and blue on a white background with teal banding.
It measures 3 7/8" across, 5 3/8" wide including the handles, and 4" high with the lid. It is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips, or crazing. Please note there are a couple firing anomalies on the inside as pictured.
It would make a beautiful sugar or jam bowl, trinket or candy dish, or bathroom toiletries container!
